Chrysler recalls 778 imported Wranglers for engine fuel supply tubing connectors or cracking

Chrysler recalled 778 imported Jeep Wrangler vehicles due to possible cracking of engine fuel supply line connectors, the State Administration for Market Regulation said on Its website on November 12.

Recently, Chrysler (China) Auto Sales Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the “Defective Automobile Product Recall Management Regulations” and the “Defective Automobile Product Recall Management Regulations implementation Measures”. With immediate effect, a total of 778 imported Jeep Shepherd cars manufactured between January 25, 2020 and March 18, 2020 will be recalled.

According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, some of the vehicles covered by the recall may have cracked engine fuel supply tubing connectors due to a combination of high melting temperature and low packing pressure in injection molds produced by suppliers. Gasoline may leak into the engine compartment and cause vehicle fire, which will increase the risk of injury to passengers and people outside the vehicle and lead to property losses, and there are potential safety hazards.

Chrysler China Auto Sales Co., Ltd. will check the date code on the oil supply line label of the affected vehicles, and replace the fuel supply line assembly free of charge if the date falls within the recall range to eliminate safety risks. (Zhongxin Jingwei APP)
